2 Weeks to Go - Before I Go

It sure has been getting busy for this old retired guy. As busy as I used to get while prepping for a long location trip. One big difference is that I'm paying for it. (HaHa)
These past weeks have seen me going to my eldest daughter's graduation for Pepperdine - a lovely spring day on the bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean (the first time that Lindsey had ever been to the campus, ironic eh!). A small party for her that night at home and then off to NYC for daughter number two's graduation from Columbia University - Teacher's College. There her ceremony was inside the old The Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine. Two very different graduations for two very different girls.

Both of them were very happy and excited by the incredible achievements they both fought for and to say the least - their Dad is extremely proud of them both. Two Masters in the same family and just days apart.

Well as they say - that was last week and now I'm busy with the final packing list and making sure all the bills get paid while I'm gone.

Please visit sometime during the summer and catchup on this roaming vagabond.

Saturday at the Mullin

Just got tickets for the "French Curves Collection" exhibit at the Mullin Automotive Museum here in Oxnard. This is one of those 'local' places that everyone has in their hometown that they have never got to see. Well their show of their collection of Bugatti cars will be beautiful. Not being a great cars lover, the pure design of these vehicles is extraordinary.

What happened!

I was interrupted in my May Day post by Dahlia, my grand daughter, coming in and wanting me to play with her. Doing puzzles are her best fun things - she 4, soon to be 5. Next thing I know it's two days later and trying to remember why I wanted to make a post.
Well, the 'expedition' is getting closer. I just received my Mobal cellphone with it's sim card. It's a England based phone number that uses the strongest signal to make calls and data. 99 cents/min (you know there is no 'cent' key!!? - but I don't think they were around on typewriters for long either). They bill you as you use the phone - no prepay minutes. When you are not going on a trip, put in in a drawer and get it out next time. NO charges, No re-setup. Seems a good deal, so I will let you know as the trip progresses.
Got my visa to Russia - Saint Petersburg, assuming we'll still be allowed entry. Got most of the trip paid for so far. Just a few more stays as I travel between major cities, and of course food and sights.
Two weeks from today and Lindsey graduates from Pepperdine with her Master. Two weeks from tomorrow, I'm on a plane to NYC for Kailey's graduation from Columbia. Busy summer is about to begin.
Stay tuned!

First of MAY

Even when you don't pay attention to the time, or maybe BECAUSE you don't pay attention to the time it just zooms by you. It's May Day, and those who maybe left in the 'working class' are celebrating today. Personally, I'm waiting for Cinco de Mayo on Monday. It will be a long weekend for some people. Maybe I'll try a beer and it won't send me into a fit of runny nose sneezy face.
