Heading East toward St Ignace

Outside of Fayette is a small town of Garden, MI where there are new wind machines that are under mixed reviews. Never seen protest signs wanting them to go away.

Moving along Highway 2 I got a couple of more lighthouses. Manistique MI along a breakwater.

Suel Choix Lighthouse

Found a campground in St. Ignace and next will be a visit to Mackinac Island.

Fayette, MI night two

I wanted to try a different area for the no moon night so I went to the boat launch area and took these few shots and I think they came out pretty good.

Then Night fell

Moving on!!

Fayette Historic State Park Michigan

After such a wonderful day with Waterfalls, Fowls and Lighthouse I thought I should go somewhere remote where I could make the best of a New Moon night. Fayette is a restored mining town of the earlier era and indeed they had no lights in the area and somewhere to camp. The other side of that was that they only had electricity at the sites but no wifi. OK I make do and enjoy the nights and try my best for that once a month chance of no moon.
Here is Fayette, MI. If you get a chance to visit, please do. They are making changes that will improve the campgrounds.

And then the sun goes down for the first night of two.

The Harbor Lights on the boats were very strong. The lighting on the following buildings are from this light source only.

Trifecta

The closest campground I could find was located in Germfask (should have asked where that comes from??) but the next day (Day 52) became incredible from out of nowhere. It started off just down the road for a early morning run through the Seney Wildlife Refuge with sightings of swans, osprey, canadian geese and an eagle. Enjoy!

That was about three hours of finding one great shot after another for a great way to start my day after a difficult driving day. Then it was a desire to see the Tahquamenon Falls in the State Park. Very tourist heavy day, but they can't all stand in front of you. Really enjoyed the 10 stop ND filter.
Love the rocks at the edge of the falls

As I said it was a trifecta day and the Whitefish Point Lighthouse provided the perfect topping to the day.

Some days are so-so and then there are days like this. Enjoy!!
