After 142 Days, almost 20,000 miles and over 24000 images I have arrived back in California for the Fall Holidays.
Now it is time to acclimatize to being in one place for more than a day and interacting with people again. Traveling alone on the roads has a way of making one rather isolated in some ways, yet free to explore in other ways. After visiting a couple of relatives in the mid-west on the return trip, the motor home just seemed to want to get back. Hated it but just got onto I-70 to I-80 and here I am. Therefore, no new photos to show.
I have told my grand daughter that I will be here for awhile, so my next 'trips' will be short and probably to SoCal for some doctor's visits after the Holidays.
I have been looking into some Photoshop 'tricks' for making Holiday cards, so that is my next project.
Happy Holidays to all (if I don't make it back here)

Where in the World is Juan Miranda???
I know where he is not!
He's no longer in Canada.
Or here
Acadia was raining all the time I was there!!
Or here

So Maine is out. Where else could He be??
Not
Who says bees done gather in the Fall. This may bee an overachiever |
That eliminates Vermont and New Hampshire for Fall Leaves.
Not here
Hup - Not Cape Cod! Nearly lost the roof of my MoHo in the winds of the hurricane, at least what was left of him. Only had to replace a vent cover.
But at last Juan has come to a stop, to go thru all these photos I have neglected for three weeks!! Having sat in the MoHo all morning - while it rained - and with a sore butt at last you may guess...
Yes - Gettysburg. It is a lot to take in. The numbers of people involved, those that died and were wounded. I will go out again soon to try for a sunset as there are clouds as you can imagine.
Next on to see a friend in New Jersey, no accounting for that, and then onward to the West.
I'll also leave you with this thought from sister Emily...

Moncton Nova Scotia
Decided to stay the night at Casa Walmart here - it has been raining most of the day. It is supposed to be a little clearer tomorrow to see Fundy National Park.
That's all. Just an update and looking forward to a few more shots before I call it an end to Canada.

Cape St Mary's - Bird Island
I could have stayed here for hours as the gannets just soared about the island. The island is 40 feet from the lookout and 500 feet from the water.
Next stop was the ferry back to Nova Scotia.
Now I am in Antigonish, NS and had the best dinner I have had on the whole trip. Gabrieau's Bistro was definitely a winner. If I could get the photos off my iPhone to show you I would do so.
Thus ends Day 107.

There is New Found Land
Inside every pothole!!! Maybe they will be offered for homesteading.
I decided that if I wished to have a motorhome to drive back to California, I had to get out off this island. As pretty as it may be and leaving a few locations not visited, I decided to head for the ferry back to Nova Scotia. It also didn't help that it continued to rain and have heavy overcast sky. I would like to return someday, but not until they fix their roads or I get a tank to drive.

Canada - The home of Pot Holes
I know it is a local that has terrible weather and the roads take a beating, but I miss so much along the road as I am trying to avoid them and as soon as I take my eye off the road to see what is around - WHAM! I have found a pot hole. To finish this thought - some of these holes are chasms that are so deep you could get Chinese take out from some.
Today I have completed yet another one of my goals - reaching the Northernmost place in Newfoundland. Here at L'Anse aux Meadows is that place. This is also the location of a Viking site over a thousand years ago. It is a beautiful spot.
It is also getting a bit cold and many people are putting up their load of wood for heat this winter.
Heading back South tomorrow and looking in on Gros Morne again.

Newfoundland - Day 100
I caught the Ferry from North Sydney NS to Port aux Basques in Newfoundland yesterday on what I would call the most calm seas I have ever been fortunate to sail upon. Beautiful day and easy trip. We arrived at 7pm local time which is 1/2 hr ahead of the Atlantic Maritimes - why? no one knows, but it sure is weird. The clouds were gathering as I drove up Trans Canadian Highway. There is only Eastbound or Westbound and therefore not much need for signage along the way. Who's to get confused? Right? Went to the first Campground that was open and many are closing for the season, yekes! I had no longer got into my site and the popout 'popped' the it started to rain - I mean pour. It rained all night and much of today, which spurred me on North (I mean East). I am now camped in Cow Head. Yup! That's right. It has a lighthouse which is hard to find and then it took me time to walk the 1.5 km to get there and by that time I was tired, so...
Here are some shots of yesterday and today.
Before I left I stayed just outside North Sydney and they have a gathering of local youngsters who play a variety of instruments for their enjoyment and that of the family and friends.
Then today I made it North to Gros Morne NP and will see more later.
I am sure tomorrow will bring many delights
